Sunroute Plaza Hotel

The Sunroute Plaza hotel is just steps away from the Shinjuku train station, and Takeshimaya shopping.  McDonalds, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Yoshinoya are all nearby.

The hotel is three stars without very many amenities and the rooms are really small, but the location is super convenient.

The room is only 9 feet wide.

And maybe 12 feet long.

Awesome view. Not.

Comfy slippers though.

Hotels with larger rooms include the Keio Plaza and Century Southern, both in Shinjuku.  The Southern Century hotel is a 4 star hotel directly across the street from the Sunroute Plaza.  The location is excellent but it sells out quickly.  The Keio Plaza, also a 4 star hotel, is farther away , about a 15 minute walk from Shinjuku station.

Other Shinjuku hotels are the 5 star Park Hyatt, 3 star Shinjuku Prince, and the 3 star Best Western.

In summary, the Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku hotel is in a great location but the rooms are really small.

Narita Airport and Express Train

Greetings from Vancouver BC

Hello from the Vancouver airport where the wi-fi is free!  Misterpiggy brought along a brand new Lenovo s10e netbook, and during the stopover he finished downloading and installing avast AV, Picasa, and Googletalk.

Tip of the day: Don't eat anything from the place called hamani in the airport food court.  Misterpiggy ordered the wonton and beef brisket noodle bowl and he wasn't quite sure what the mystery meat inside the wonton was.  Other food options at the Vancouver airport food court are A&W burgers and Tim Hortons.

Just one more hour before it's time to board the connecting flight to Tokyo!

Back to Tokyo!

Ever since 2007, Misterpiggy has been itching to go back to Japan.  He really missed the beauty, the culture, the people and the food.  Well, his dream came true with a great hotel and airfare package that he found through Travelocity.

In just a few weeks, he'll be flying to Tokyo Japan via Air Canada and staying for twelve nights at the Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku hotel.  Reviews for this hotel have been mostly favorable.  While his earlier stay in Tokyo was cold and blustery during March 2007, this time Misterpiggy expects lots of sun and warm temperatures.  He's looking forward to revisiting Asakusa, Shibuya and Yoyogi Park and looking forward to exploring Odaiba, Ueno and other places within Tokyo.  He also has plans to visit the Hakone and Nikko regions.

So, with flights and hotel are all booked, the next task at hand is to prepare an itinerary and assemble all of the maps and reference material needed for a most excellent adventure in Japan!
